  • The mission of Humble Design is to furnish homes for families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing. They aim to create warm, welcoming environments that empower these families to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

  • We extend our assistance to individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness into stable housing. There is no direct application process—our services are accessible to those referred to us by partnering agencies, including shelters and human services organizations, who authorize and guide the referral process.

  • We're actively looking for ways to identify future expansion.

  • If you or someone you know is seeking assistance from Humble Design, there are alternative avenues to explore. One option is to reach out to The Furniture Bank in your area. Additionally, you can visit the 211.org website for additional sources of assistance in your area. We appreciate your understanding and consideration in not burdening the case managers of our partnering agencies with direct requests for referral.

  • We do not help or provide housing for the clients. They either work with our partnering agencies who help them secure housing, or find it on their own. Having housing already secured is a requirement to be referred.

  • Humble Design supports families in need by furnishing their homes as they transition out of homelessness into stable housing. Through our compassionate efforts, we create warm and welcoming environments, empowering families to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

  • You can contribute to our cause by donating furniture and household items directly to Humble Design. We welcome donations that are in good condition and suitable for furnishing homes. Please reach out to us to coordinate the donation process and ensure that your generosity directly impacts those in need. Start by clicking on the orange “give furniture” block in the footer of the website for more details by city on how and where to make donations of both furniture and household items.

  • We gladly accept donations of furniture and household items that are in good condition and suitable for furnishing homes. Examples include sofas, beds, tables, chairs, dressers, kitchenware, and linens. Your generous contributions help us create warm and welcoming environments for families in need. Each individual city page has a “Donation Cheatsheet” with more detailed specifications.

  • You can absolutely volunteer with Humble Design and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We welcome volunteers who are passionate about our mission and eager to contribute their time and skills. To get involved, simply click the volunteer button on the city page you are available to volunteer in to see a list of opportunities.

  • Humble Design is in five states/locations currently. Our presence in select areas allows us to focus our efforts and resources effectively to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.
